Job Title: Software Developer
Department: IS - Information Systems
Role includes developing and maintaining an ERP system for a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the immediate/acting leadership.
- Develops program documentation to be used by the users as a help manual.
- Creates/maintains bug database and provides reports to IS leadership.
- Develops technical program documentation by psuedo-coding program modules and laying out data definitions.
- Serves as point of contact for customer calls concerning program errors.
- Coordinates implementations of new software by training customers.
- Acts as a liaison between computer users and programmers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Current programming environment includes Oracle database, PL/SQL, VB6, C#, WBF, Silverlight, and ASP.NET. Fluent in MSWord, Excel, and Visio to create manuals, track proficiency, or develop flow charts. Experience writing test scripts using VBScript or equivalent scripting language.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Able to multitask while staying organized. Must be able to document correspondence with customers and testing details, perform logic troubleshooting, analyze workflow, and work well within a team environment. Must have strong communication skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The associate is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
